Tips & Tricks
Make the most of OMN with these practical tips for everyday use.
Navigation & Views
Use the Content Switcher in the status bar to switch between available views (Table View, Light Table, Single Object View) without leaving the current context.
The Compare View lets you display two assets side by side — ideal for checking variants or comparing versions before approving.
The Sidebar gives you quick access to plugins, Favorites, and Help. Which plugins are visible depends on your user rights — not every user has access to all plugins or the Configuration Client.
OMN supports a number of keyboard shortcuts to speed up your work. You can find the full list in the Sidebar under Help.
User-based settings let you save general preferences such as your default language or display options — they are restored automatically the next time you log in.
Working with Assets and Products
Drag & Drop works almost everywhere: move assets between folders or drag files directly into the shopping cart.
Use the selection checkbox in the table header to select all visible objects at once — useful for applying bulk actions to an entire result set.
The Annotation Tool lets you add comments and annotations directly on a document or image — no need to download it first. Ideal for review and approval workflows.
For mass data maintenance, open the Bulk Editor. It works like a spreadsheet and lets you edit attributes across many objects at once — changes to a parent object are automatically inherited by its children.
The version history shows you who uploaded or changed a file and when. Use it to track changes or restore a previous version.
The status bar always shows how many objects are in the current view and how many are selected — helpful when working with large result sets.
Mark frequently used folders or assets as Favorites for quick access — no more navigating through the folder structure every time.
The Aperture Tool crops images non-destructively — the original file is always preserved. Use it freely without worrying about losing your original.
Shopping Cart
The Shopping cart lets you collect assets from different folders and download them all at once — even with different download settings per asset. No need to download folder by folder.
Downloads
When using the Download function, you can optionally lock the file at the same time. The file is then reserved for your exclusive editing in OMN until you release it again.
You can download one or more files as a ZIP archive — even if you only selected a single file.
