Web-to-Print
The Web-to-Print module, especially in combination with the OMN core modules DAM and PIM, makes it possible to centrally manage all information and data important for advertising communication and to make provided layout templates editable via the OMN web client according to CD guidelines.
In such templates, for example, customers and branches can select provided layout documents (Adobe Indesign) and exchange images and text information as required.
The Web-to-Print module includes two different modules:
-
Preparing: to prepare layout documents for later editing
-
DocEdit: for editing layout documents
The Preparing module within OMN allows an administrator to "prepare" layout
documents, i.e. to allow or deny an end user to change the elements of a layout
document in DocEdit. Extensive possibilities, e.g. selectable text modules, are
available for this purpose.
In other words: An administrator creates document templates which are released
for the end user to modify in DocEdit.
The DocEdit module allows editing of documents prepared by Preparing via the web browser (based on Adobe Indesign Server technology).
Web-to-Print can work with prepared documents (DAM-based approach) as well as be used in conjunction with the PIM module. This is useful, for example when a product, such as a business card or flyer, is the basis of the customization. The product itself references corresponding Indesign templates, which are to be made available for editing via DocEdit.
