Important Update Tasks

The following tasks must be executed (dependent to your system environment and needs).

Please note necessary migration steps

If you want to upgrade a system older than 5.11 you have to ensure that all previous update/upgrade/migration steps are executed sequentially. Eg. 5.4 → 5.5 → … → 5.10

To do that please follow the corresponding release notes pages. E.g. Upgrade (to 5.11)

To upgrade your OMN systems (from 5.11) to OMN 5.12.0 you have to do the following steps:

1. Make sure that all prerequisites are met ( → ADMIN)

System Requirements are full-filled → System Requirements

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 required

The host operating system must be RHEL 9. Previous versions are not supported. So you have to setup new systems based on RHEL 9. Updating old (RHEL 7 based) systems is not an option.

2. Check Release Notes ( → ALL)

Before you start to upgrade OMN check the Release Notes to get an overview over important information.

3. Adapt NGINX configuration ( → ADMIN)

Update the NGINX configuration if needed. Cp. Update NGINX configuration

4. Re-configure License Server ( → ADMIN)

A new version of the OMN License Server is available to support Docker environments. If the new license server should be used, the configuration and license must be adapted. → OMN License server was replaced

5. Adapt Glossary attributes ( → ADMIN)

6. Ensure that DB migrations are successful ( → Admin, DEV)

7. Adapt Workflow Engine properties (XWE and Camunda) ( → ADMIN)

8. Check if custom code/configuration is affected by breaking changes ( → CONFIG, DEV)

Optional Tasks
