n8n
OMN supports integrations with various workflow automation platforms such as Zapier, Camunda, and, with OMN 6.4, n8n.
What is n8n?
n8n is an open-source workflow automation platform that can be used to connect various applications and services.
With n8n, individual automations — known as workflows — can be created to reduce manual technical tasks and make processes more efficient.
Important Information and Features of n8n
-
Functionality: n8n uses triggers (e.g., webhooks) and actions to exchange data between systems
-
Flexibility: Can be hosted on the user’s own server or using the cloud version
-
Use cases: Automatic data transfer, notifications, synchronization between tools, and much more
Usage Information
n8n Licensing Models
n8n offers various deployment and licensing models tailored to a wide range of requirements, from individual users to larger organizations. In general, both SaaS (cloud) and self-hosted options are available.
The cloud plans are fully managed by n8n and offer a ready-to-use environment. These plans are ideal for teams that prefer quick setup, automatic updates, and minimal administrative overhead.
For companies that require more control, strict security policies, or local data storage, n8n also offers self-hosted licenses. These options allow n8n to run on users' own infrastructure and, depending on the plan selected, support features such as SSO, dedicated environments, extended data retention, or advanced compliance features.
For all models, pricing is based on the number of workflow executions per month, while the number of users and workflow steps is typically unlimited.
Enterprise example
The Enterprise version starts at 600,000 executions per year (average ~50,000/month, but distributed as an annual pool).

-
Enterprise Cloud
-
n8n hosts and maintains the infrastructure
-
Two environments/instances are included by default; additional cloud instances are available at an extra cost
-
Good option if users want to get started quickly without having to worry about managing the infrastructure
-
-
Enterprise Self-hosted
-
The user hosts and manages the infrastructure
-
No fixed limit on the number of instances/environments under the license (they are sourced from the same execution pool)
-
More flexibility if users expect to run multiple instances over time for different customer workflows or internal separations
-
| Recommendation: Using a self-hosted solution, as it offers more control over architecture, scaling, and unrestricted environment management at no additional cost. |
| n8n does not offer true technical “multi-tenancy,” but logical separations can be made using projects and an instance/environment structure. In addition, utilization can be tracked by project/workflow to understand which customer workflows are driving usage. Enterprise supports integration with observability tools for more detailed reporting. |
Use of n8n in conjunction with OMN
If customers wish to use n8n in conjunction with OMN, they must independently take out a corresponding subscription or, in the case of self-hosted solutions, organize the infrastructure and licensing themselves.
For licensing reasons, apollon is unable to operate customer workflows with apollon subscriptions for other customers. This also applies in cases where n8n only functions as a backend orchestration layer for OMN (workflows triggered via OMNproduct/API) without end customers having direct access to the n8n user interface.
apollon does not currently have a corporate license, which is a prerequisite for operating customer workflows in the apollon account.
How are n8n workflows created?
-
Set up webhook: Configure an n8n workflow with a webhook and configure an OMN Camunda webhook workflow with the URL of the n8n webhook.
-
Add actions: Linking the n8n workflow to other apps (e.g., email, Slack, databases)
-
Test & activate: Simulating the workflow and putting it live
