How to use

Content language

An opened asset has one leading content language that applies to all tabs of the editor. The Asset View has no left panel; the content language is therefore controlled by the content language dropdowns in the status bars of the content views in the center and in the right panel.

This behavior is available as of OMN 6.4.2 and all subsequent versions.
  • Initial content language: when the editor is opened, the content language is taken over from the panel in which the function to open the Asset View was executed. All tabs and content views of the editor use this language.

  • Hierarchy: changing the content language in a content view in the center updates all content views of the same tab and the related right panels of this tab. Changing the content language in the right panel updates all content views of the right panel of the current tab.

  • Several assets opened at once: the same rule applies to each asset. If the content language of an asset was changed in the editor, this selection is restored when switching back to that asset via the dropdown in the title bar.

  • No user-based storage: the content language selected in the editor applies to the currently opened asset only and is not stored in the user-based settings anymore.

  • Unsaved changes: if there are unsaved changes, the dirty check dialog is shown before the content language is changed.

The general concept of content language handling in the maintenance editors is described in detail for the Product View | Content language.
